Three fire engines are currently in attendance
at The Tottle Bakery, Dunsil Drive, where a fire broke out on the ground floor of the building at 7.47am.
Owned by the Compleat Food Group, the company's brands include Pork Farms and Wall's. The firm also produces quiches, flans and savoury tarts sold by major retailers including Asda, Sainsbury's, Aldi and Lidl Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said the fire was located in an industrial oven in the ground floor of the building. "We are attending an industrial fire at Pork Farms off Queens Drive," said a spokeswoman."It is a two-floor building, which is 100m by 100m. The fire is located in the bottom floor in an industrial oven. Two crews from London Road and one appliance from West Bridgford are at the scene.
"It doesn't look like it will be getting any worse, this will be the peak of it before firefighters start scaling it back." She added that no-one was injured in the blaze and expected firefighters to be there for another hour or two. An anonymous eyewitness said: "About four fire engines and police are there. Everyone looks to have been evacuated from the building also." Nottinghamshire Police have been approached for comment.
