WICKSBURG – Wicksburg knocked off Class 3A, No. 10-ranked and previously unbeaten Montgomery Academy 27-22 on Friday night in high school football action.

G.W. Long led 30-20 at halftime. Geneva County lost for the first time and is 3-1 overall, 1-1 in the region. Cayden Adkins had 140 yards rushing on nine carries with touchdown runs of 51 and 7 yards. Powell Bane had a 6-yard TD run. Klete Meadows had three touchdowns on 49 yards rushing, with the scores coming from 5, 13 and 12 yards out. King Campbell had touchdown runs of 5 and 10 yards. Braylon Morris had nine carries for 96 yards and was 6-of-9 passing for 106 yards, including a 52-yard TD pass to Ty Booker, who also caused and returned a fumble 10 yards for a touchdown.
Ashford also got a 14-yard TD run from Braylon Bigham and a 21-yard scoring run from Jay Ragland plus a safety on defense. Parker Brewer made two extra-point kicks.Bigham rushed for 111 yards on 17 carries, Paramore 51 on five carries and Lewis 41 on six carries. Defensively, Bryant Crumpler was in on 17 tackles, including three for losses, and Gabriel Dean had six tackles and two interceptions.
For Abbeville, Ahmod Billins threw for 155 yards off 10-of-16 passing with two touchdowns and added 61 yards rushing. Kendrick Carter rushed for 101 yards on seven carries. Eufaula 34, Headland 6: A smothering Eufaula defense held Headland scoreless until late in the fourth quarter on Friday night in Headland.
Tyler Sharp scored the Eagles’ first touchdown on a 10-yard fumble return. Pittman followed with a 9-yard scoring run before Christian Sutton returned an interception 38 yards for a touchdown. Defensively for the Tigers, Landon Miller had seven tackles, while Abraham Vazquez had six. Payton Howerton, Lonnie Miller and Ben McKenzie each had five.
Offensively for the Knights, John Michael Mordecai threw for 111 yards, completing 12-of-16 passes. Kyle Kirchhoff had six receptions for 45 yards and Issac Handcock had four receptions for 48 yards. Kingston Whaley had 48 yards rushing on 12 attempts. Jayden McNabb rushed for 91 yards on five carries, including a 7-yard TD run, and threw for 92 yards off 3-of-4 passing with scoring passes of 27 and 47 yards to Sam Adams. Marcell Newsome returned an interception 54 yards for a score, Szmerick Andrews scored on a 9-yard run and Zion Picatoste kicked a 31-yard field goal for Goshen .
The No. 2 ranked Flying Squadron also had a punt return and a blocked punt for touchdowns early in the game to take control. Andrew Wright had 160 yards rushing on 10 carries with a touchdown. Nathan Pruitt had 10 tackles with a sack. Lakeside School 63, North River 0: In just their second game in eight-man football, the Chiefs earned their first win, routing North River at Reeves Field, 63-0.
