Week 1 is typically one of the few times NFL teams have a light injury report and such was the case for the Eagles as they held their final practice in South Philadelphia before flying to São Paulo, Brazil Wednesday ahead of Friday night's game against the Green Bay Packers.

Tight end Dallas Goedert has been back at practice this week after dealing with an oblique injury late in training camp. The Eagles’ first official injury report of the 2024 season revealed that cornerback Isaiah Rodgers is dealing with a hand injury.

Rodgers battled Kelee Ringo all season for a role at outside cornerback and it’s still not known which player will be on the field when Quinyon Mitchell moves inside in the nickel-coverage scheme. Rodgers missed practice time last week, but he has been back in a limited role this week. Linebacker Devin White was also listed as limited by an ankle injury. He battled Nakobe Dean for playing time throughout training camp and the preseason and defensive coordinator Vic Fangio said this week that the competition will continue into the season. Wide receiver A.J. Brown and guard Landon Dickerson were listed as limited practice participants who were “resting players” on Tuesday. The Eagles will have an approximate injury report Wednesday because the team will spend the entire day traveling.will put out their first injury report of the 2024 season Tuesday afternoon and all indications are that they are heading to São Paulo, Brazil Wednesday morning with a healthy roster., offensive lineman Trevor Keegan , tight end Albert Okwuegbunam , offensive lineman Tyler Steen , wide receiver Johnny Wilson , safety Caden Sterns , offensive lineman Matt Hennessy , wide receiver John Ross were on the long list of injured players out of practice. Two of those players were cut, another is on injured reserve and Sterns is on the practice squad. The five players on the active roster all took part in stretching ahead of practice Tuesday, which means every member of the team’s 53-man roster should be ready for Friday night’s season opener against the Green Bay Packers in Brazil.earlier in the week that his oblique injury was not serious and that the Eagles were just being cautious when they sat him out of practice for a few days. Other than Goedert, the Eagles’ starters all came through training camp uninjured. In fact, the last Eagles’ starter to show up on the team’s training-camp practice report because of an injury other than Goedert was safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson, who missed four practices in August before returning from a shoulder injury. He has been back on the field for a while, however.. Green Bay’s biggest concern for much of training camp was rookie running back MarShawn Lloyd who missed time early in camp with a hip injury and late in camp with a hamstring injury. But he has been back at practice this week. Lloyd will be Green Bay’s No. 2 running back behind free-agent addition Josh Jacobs, who led the NFL in yards from scrimmage with 2,053 two seasons ago with the Las Vegas Raiders.was asked about the challenge of facing a Packers offense that averaged 26 points and 384 yards over the final 12 games of the 2023 season. That stretch included a season-high 48 points and 415 yards in a playoff win over the Cowboys, who ranked fifth in the NFL in defense last season. “Yeah, the biggest problem in defending their offense is they run it just as good as they throw it,” Fangio said. “They have a really good mix on first and second down, running play-action, and it makes it hard to defend. Then you throw in ... a scrambling mobile quarterback , it adds another dimension to it. They’re really tough to defend.” Thank you for relying on us to provide the journalism you can trust.
