Umno sec-gen to meet ROS over legality of party's no-contest decision

PETALING JAYA: A meeting with the Registrar of Societies (ROS) to explain the legality of the voting process during the Umno General Assembly 2022 will be held soon, says Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan.

The party secretary-general said the process that was done during the Umno assembly last week had followed the party’s rules and constitution.

"The granting of authority to the Permanent Chairman is to ensure that the assembly proceeds in order but not too restricting for the delegates. Earlier, it was reported that Umno member from the Kuala Nerus division Muhammad Aizat Fikri and Seremban Umno member Muhammad Fiqri Firdaus Muhammad Rom claimed that the party had violated its constitution at the general assembly.
