Turkey has been playing a mediating role in the Ukraine crisis, hosting a meeting of Russian and Ukrainian foreign ministers earlier in March. A Ukrainian official, David Arakhamia, said on Facebook earlier on Sunday that the next meeting of Russian and Ukrainian negotiators would take place in Turkey from March 27 to March 30.
Previous talks between the Russian and Ukrainian foreign ministers in Turkey earlier in March ended without agreement on a cease-fire or other humanitarian issues. A separate track of talks between Russian and Ukrainian officials has taken place in Belarus and over videoconference.
