Former Loyola High star and Bruins graduate assistant coached safeties last season at Sacramento State
UCLA football coach Chip Kelly on Tuesday announced the official hiring of Kodi Whitfield as the team’s cornerbacks coach.
Whitfield served as a graduate assistant coach during the 2020 and 2021 seasons at UCLA before coaching safeties at Sacramento State in 2022. He also coached with special teams and player development for the Hornets. Sacramento State finished with an 11-0 regular-season record and reached the quarterfinal round of the FCS playoffs.
Whitfield has Pac-12 experience as a receiver and safety at Stanford, under coach David Shaw, and played three years of varsity at Loyola High in Los Angeles.
