London rebukes Uber again, declining to issue a new long-term license
LONDON—Authorities in the U.K. capital declined again to issue Uber Technologies Inc. a long-term operating license, opting instead for a two-month permit that prolongs a period of close scrutiny in one of the ride-hailing company’s biggest global markets.
Transport for London, the city’s main transportation regulator, refused in 2017 to renew Uber’s long-term license to operate as a private car-hire service, saying the company needed to improve its culture and governance and address safety issues raised by the regulator.
