The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office arrested an Uber driver accused of sexually assaulting a passenger.
Luis DeLeon, 30, was charged with sexual assault after a woman accused him of attacking her while he was her Uber driver.On March 7, a 45-year-old woman reported to San Antonio police that she had been sexually assaulted by an Uber driver several days prior, according to an affidavit supporting DeLeon’s arrest. She told police that she ordered the car to take her home from a bar but that after driving her toward her destination, he assaulted her.
During the ride, DeLeon and the woman were making small talk, she said, when he asked her to get into the front seat. She told police that when she declined, DeLeon became verbally abusive and said that if she didn’t get in the front seat, he would pull over and get in the back with her, the affidavit said.
When she declined a second time, DeLeon pulled over, got in the back and forced her to perform sexual acts, the affidavit said. After he finished, he dropped off the woman at her home.San Antonio police initiated the investigation, then transferred the case to the sheriff’s office after determining that the incident occurred in an unincorporated part of Bexar County.Several days ago, the BCSO obtained an arrest warrant and spread the word on social media that it was looking for DeLeon.
