A fire at a Tyson Foods facility in Camilla, Georgia, resulted in the death of one person and multiple injuries. The Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSU) described the incident as a boiler explosion. Tyson Foods is cooperating with authorities to determine the cause of the fire and is conducting a full investigation. The RWDSU is providing support to injured workers and calling for a thorough investigation into workplace safety.

"We extend our deepest condolences to their family and friends during this difficult time. Right now we are still gathering the facts, but ensuring the safety of our team members is our top priority, and we are conducting a full investigation into the cause of the fire," according to the statement. The Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union , which represents more than 15,000 poultry workers at facilities across the southern U.S., including Tyson workers, described the incident as a "boiler explosion."
"The health and safety of workers must be a top priority at poultry plants, and we are working to assist anyone injured last night," Stuart Appelbaum, who is the president of the RWDSU, and Edgar Fields, who is the resident of the Southeast Council of the RWDSU, said in a joint statement. "RWDSU representatives are on the ground and available to assist.
“We stand with the workers, our members for over 50 years, at this facility and countless others across the industry who need increased safety at work. No worker should ever have to worry that when they go to work, they may not be able to return home safe and sound," they said."I am saddened to hear about the Tyson’s Plant explosion last night that resulted in one death.
