The Mets got just what they needed on Friday night: a visit from the worst team in the National League.
win over the Yankees on Wednesday
Tylor Megill allowed just one run in six innings and the lineup got multi-hit nights from Starling Marte, Jeff McNeil and Tommy Pham — as well as a home run from Daniel Vogelbach, who just returned to the lineup after taking a mental break. Megill had pitched poorly in three of his last four starts, but was effective throughout this outing.
Brett Baty, though, bailed out Lindor with a two-run double down the first-base line to give the Mets an early lead. Pham followed with an RBI single to center to make it 3-0.
