Texas businesses that require customers to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination could lose their state contracts and business licenses under a bill Gov. Greg Abbott signed into law on Monday.

”Senate Bill 968, which passed in the last days of the legislative session, includes a section that prohibits businesses from requiring proof of vaccination,Violators will not be able to obtain state contracts. Government agencies overseeing businesses could make compliance with the state law a condition for getting a business license or operating permit, The Tribune said.that SB 968 will “protect individuals’ private medical information from the intrusive government and business-led mandates.
Less than half of Texans have received one dose of vaccine and 45% are fully vaccinated, The Texas Tribune said.
