Six Texas driver's license locations across Dallas-Fort Worth will be open for appointments on select Saturdays in October.

Texans needing to renew or replace their driver’s license or identification cards this month can schedule appointments on Saturdays, the Texas Department of Public Safety announced Wednesday.

Participating offices across the state will be open for half days each Saturday through the end of October to serve additional customers. Some offices may also accept weekend appointments for new IDs, but that is dependent on location.8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Oct. 12 and 26, according to an online listing. Those offices include Carrollton, Dallas South, Denton, Fort Worth, Garland and Lake Worth.

The agency also offered Saturday appointments last month and said the appointments filled quickly but had a “no show” rate of about 30%, so DPS asked customers who can no longer make their appointments to be sure to cancel them so someone else can take their spot.Dockworkers strike: What it could mean for prices, the holidays and the economy
