KUALA LUMPUR: Two more new Covid-19 cases were reported on Friday (Feb 28), bringing the total reported cases to 25.
Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that the 24th case was a Japanese woman, aged 41, who works in Malaysia.She had a fever and sought treatment on Feb 17. She was admitted to a private hospital on Feb 20 and a Covid-19 test was taken. It was positive.
“He received outpatient treatment from Feb 23 to 25. On Feb 28, a Covid-19 test confirmed he was infected, ” said Dr Noor Hisham, adding that the man had been admitted to the isolation ward in Hospital Sungai Buloh. Dr Noor Hisham said the decision was made, after the Covid-19 clusters committee meeting with various agencies.However, Malaysians, permanent residents and social visit pass holders who had been in those areas within 14 days before arriving in Malaysia need to be screened by the Health Ministry, he said.
