Two men have been arrested over a potentially ‘devastating’ plot to traffic nearly $1.7 billion worth of methamphetamine to Australia.Canadian authorities seized another 325 litres of the liquid drug, also destined for Australia, in May and then another 2900 litres in June. Police allege he acted as a conduit for an organised crime network in Canada. He will appear in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.
During the searches on Wednesday, police allegedly uncovered a clandestine lab at a Sunshine North home.
