Sections of two streets in Denver’s Lower Downtown will be closed to vehicles on Friday and Saturday night so city officials can evaluate how it impacts crowds, congestion and crime.

The idea to temporarily close the streets was sparked by residents and businesses asking for better management of crowds and vehicles and improved safety, Denver officials said in a statement. “These are two blocks where during out-crowd we see a lot of people coming out of establishments and onto sidewalks and streets to leave the downtown area, so these blocks were identified for that reason,” Schepman said.Parking meters in the 1900 block of Market Street and 2000 block of Larimer Street will be bagged while the streets are closed.“We hear your concerns and will continue to explore ways to make a positive difference in the downtown experience,” they said.Sam's No.
