Four candidates are running for Lancaster County commissioner seats.Republican incumbents Josh Parsons and Ray D'Agostino spoke Wednesday at a forum at the Rotary Club of Lancaster, answering questions.They pointed to their track record on taxes, saying they haven't raised them in 10 years. They touted investment in infrastructure, including plans to build a new prison and farmland preservation.
Yoder supports the creation of a County Health Department and a focus on rehabilitation rather than punishment at the future prison.Hollister switched from the Republican Party to the Democratic Party after the violence at the Capitol on Jan. 6, saying the 'party drifted away from him on social and election issues.' Hollister said more needs to be done on affordable housing and mental health issues among the young, as well as addressing issues with EMS.
