Two people were injured and another two were killed after a shooting during a domestic violence incident in Kearns on Monday evening, March 30, 2026. Two people were injured and two others were killed in a physical altercation that escalated into a murder-suicide on Monday evening.
The suspected shooter, identified as Floyd Allred, 64, as well as 61-year-old Kaylene Allred, were found dead inside the home. Kaylene Allred's two children - Floyd Allred's step-children - were both injured and hospitalized in serious condition.Sgt. Race said officers responded to the scene near 4100 West and 5900 South just before 10:30 p.m. on March 30. The caller initially had reported that drugs and alcohol were involved, and a gun was locked up. Minutes later, shots could be heard over the phone and the caller said someone had been shot."It was a very quick incident, unfortunately," said Race.
