As frustration continues to mount against Russian President Vladimir Putin, President Donald Trump plans to announce a plan to send more weapons to Ukraine.

Washington insider Armstrong Williams said he thinks Trump’s plan is a ploy to force Putin into peace talks with Ukraine. It’s a tactic,” Williams said Monday during a one-on-one interview with The National News Desk’s Jan Jeffcoat. The president feels as though Putin has been disingenuous and that he’s threatening to send more weapons to Ukraine, which would be paid by the Europeans,” Williams added, as the supplies will be funded by NATO allies. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte will be in Washington on Monday and Tuesday to meet with the White House and members of Congress. Williams said he thinks it’s crucial that Putin’s foreign prime minister said they are waiting to see what the negotiations are. You just have to see how far they are willing to go,” Williams said. “But Trump will accept nothing short of ending this war with Ukraine. That’s the only thing that matters to him.”
