Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential candidate, was also charged in August 2023 by Special Counsel Jack Smith, accused of conspiring to overturn the results of his election loss to President Joe Biden in the run-up to the January 6 siege on the U.S. Capitol.Also in August 2023, Trump and 18 others were charged in Georgia by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis with participating in a scheme to unlawfully attempt to overturn the state's presidential election results.
