President Donald Trump’s approval rating has slipped recently, according to a recent poll.Trump’s recent approval rating comes amid the ongoing war he launched against Iran which has subsequently resulted in a surge in fuel prices across the United States.
A four-day Reuters/Ipsos poll found 36% of Americans approved of Trump’s job performance, which is down from last week’s 40%. Views on Trump’s recent handling of the U.S. economy have soured, with just 25% of respondents saying they approved of the president’s handling of the cost of living. Only 29% of the country was happy with Trump’s overall economic stewardship, which is the lowest rating in either of the president’s administrations and lower than any economic approval rating of former President Joe Biden, Reuters reported. Americans' approval of the war in Iran was at 35%, down from 37% last week. What’s more, about 46% of respondents to Reuters’ survey said the war will make the U.S. less safe in the long run. Only 26% said it would make the country safer, while the rest said it wouldn’t make a difference. On Monday, it was reported that thousands of more troops would be sent to the Middle East, despite the president’s previous comments that military operations in the region would be "winding down."
