Witkoff expressed, 'I believe everyone aspires for peace in the region. And peace in the region signifies a better life for Palestinians. A better life isn't necessarily contingent upon the physical space you currently occupy.
A better life encompasses better opportunities, improved financial circumstances, and heightened aspirations for you and your family. However, this cannot be achieved by simply pitching a tent in the Gaza Strip, surrounded by 30,000 munitions that could detonate at any moment. It is a perilous place to reside.'President Donald Trump proposed that the United States 'take over' the Gaza Strip, demolish it, and rebuild it at a future date during a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. 'I envision a long-term ownership position, and I anticipate it will bring significant stability to that region of the Middle East, and possibly the entire Middle East,' Trump remarked, emphasizing that this was not a decision made lightly. 'Everyone I've spoken to supports the concept of the United States acquiring that piece of land, developing it, and creating thousands of jobs with something that will be magnificent — in a truly magnificent area that would remain unknown to the public. Currently, all they perceive is death, destruction, debris, and demolished buildings scattered everywhere. It's a truly deplorable and disheartening sight.' The president has repeatedly suggested relocating Palestinians to neighboring Egypt and Jordan, though both countries have declined such proposals. Following Trump's remarks, the Saudi Arabian Foreign Ministry issued a statement reaffirming Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's stance on the establishment of a Palestinian state, which it asserts must occur before the Arab nation establishes diplomatic relations with Israel.Witkoff informed Fox News host Sean Hannity that Trump aims to instill 'more hope' for a brighter future for Palestinians, potentially one outside the war-ravaged enclave.
