Mid-Atlantic states and parts of New York and New England may get serious rainfall that could result in dangerous flooding heading into the weekend.

Residents in the Northeast are preparing for rounds of heavy rainfall and serious flooding as Tropical Storm Debby travels north on Friday.Debby is expected to transition from a tropical storm to a post-tropical storm as it heads into the Northeast bringing rain. The Mid-Atlantic states and parts of New York and New England could get serious rainfall that could cause dangerous flooding into the weekend.

According to FOX Weather, the Level 3 zone includes Scranton, Pennsylvania, Syracuse, Binghamton and Albany in New York and Burlington, Vermont.New York City was slammed with heavy rain, flooding, and severe weather on Tuesday, and was placed in a Level 1 flood threat.With a threat of severe weather on Friday, the NOAA's Storm Prediction Center is placing some areas in the northeast on a Level 1 thunderstorm risk scale, including Washington, D.C.
