The days of ordering a coffee and not having a list of dairy milk alternatives to choose from are long gone.
Well, it is indeed a thing and a sandwich shop owned by Burnley-born Alex Markham is offering the vegetable-based liquid white stuff in your latte. Low in sugar and allergen-friendly, the milk is said to be "creamier and smoother" than other milks, and is the world's only potato-powered milk. The climate footprint of potato milk is two-thirds lower than cow’s milk, and because the act of growing potatoes is twice as land efficient as oats and uses 98% less water than almonds, it is more sustainable than other plant-based milks.
"We hope letting people try a potato milk coffee for free will help with the financial pinch this time of year too."
