David Alexander had been on holiday with his family in Lanzarote
Tributes have been paid to a 'kind' teenager who died while on holiday. David Alexander, 18, was taken to hospital after reportedly falling from a balcony in Lanzarote last week.
Heartfelt tributes have poured in for the much-loved teenager, who has been described as “a beautiful boy”, and “one in a million” with friends speaking of their shock and sending condolences to David’s family. He was well known across the area as a popular member of the social club Golden Friendships and a volunteer at West Dunbartonshire Community Foodshare .
The group is raffling off two signed framed tops which belonged to former football players Chris Sutton and Mark Hateley to support the family. One person commented: “David was the most kind young man you could ever meet and it was an absolute honour having him in my life. He was a great friend to have, he will forever be in my heart and I’ll forever miss him so much. He was one in a million so young to have lost his life it’s horrible.
“We were all really shocked to hear the news and we’re all thinking of his family.” West Dunbartonshire Council had celebrated the talented teenager’s exam success in August and told how he had determinedly overcome challenges to achieve awards and top results.
