Transformers: The Most Powerful Transformers Compared to Megatron
TransformersMost Powerful TransformersMegatron

The movie highlights certain characters who are more powerful than Megatron, providing various reasons why they are. It shows how some characters and even god-tier characters surpass Megatron in power.

In Transformers , the Autobots fight to stop Megatron from conquering the Earth, and have since the classic cartoons, the animated movie, the comic books, and the Michael Bay movies.

However, while Megatron was the leader of the Decepticons and one of the strongest Transformers in history, he was never the strongest. There have always been some Transformers who have been stronger than Megatron, some even existing on an entirely different tier. Megatron has always been a powerhouse in the Transformers universe. He has unparalleled brute strength, a powerful Cybertronian spark, and combat experience that allows him to battle anyone on a high level.

In the first Michael Bay movie, Megatron is almost unstoppable, defeating several Autobots and swatting away military strikes. He even kills Optimus Prime in a shocking moment in the second film.

However, things began to change as the movies rolled on. New, powerful villains arrived who made Megatron look less imposing by comparison. Even Optimus Prime was more powerful when he returned. Megatron was given more time in the animated Transformers One , which showed Megatron and Optimus before they headed toward Earth.

Two main Transformers characters remain more powerful than Megatron, as do some god-tier Transformers characters. 5 Devastator Devastator is a Decepticon who first appears in the franchise in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen in 2009. He shows up during the Pyramid Desert Battle in Egypt. He is eight Constructicons in one: Mixmaster , Scavenger , Scrapper , Hightower , Scrapmetal , Overload , and Long Haul and Skipjack .

He weighs so much that he has to walk on all fours, and his size dwarfs every other Transformer in movie history. Devastator is so strong that, using his massive, jagged teeth and shredding mechanisms, he starts tearing through the Great Pyramid of Giza, showing raw power beyond anything Megatron ever accomplished.

Even Megatron shows his respect for Devastator's power in the movie. 4 Optimus Prime Megatron kills Optimus Prime in the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen by stabbing him through the chest while Optimus is fighting Megatron, Starscream, and Grindor at the same time. However, that was a three-on-one fight. When fighting one-on-one, Optimus has proven more than once that he can beat Megatron and is more powerful in the end. In fact, Optimus kills Megatron later in the franchise.

In Transformers: Dark of the Moon , Optimus kills Megatron in single combat after Megatron saves him from Sentinel Prime. Optimus is the only character in the live-action franchise to personally kill Megatron, proving his power once and for all. Optimus later shows his true might when he beheads all six Infernocons in a single sword swing in Transformers: The Last Knight .

However, he doesn't surpass the most powerful Transformers because Optimus needs the Matrix of Leadership to tap into his full power. Interestingly, it is in Transformers One where Optimus Prime and Megatron seem most equal, as the movie shows both on Cybertron and leads to the moment where Megatron betrays his friend.

Even as Megatron wants to break the hierarchy on the planet, it is Optimus who is able to banish his friend when he takes things too far, so from the beginning, Prime was always more powerful than his friend, who would move on to become a powerful villain. 3 Quintessa Quintessa debuted in Transformers: The Last Knight as the main antagonist. She claims to be the creator of the Cybertronian race and proclaims herself the"Prime of Life.

" She then brainwashes Optimus Prime and forces him to do her work, which Megatron never could have accomplished. In fact, she rebuilds Galvatron after Lockdown's death and restores him to Megatron. In this movie, Megatron serves as one of Quintessa's subordinates. With the Staff of Merlin, Quintessa shows she has the power to initiate the transfer of energy from Earth's core into Cybertron, beginning to heal Cybertron at the cost of making Earth uninhabitable.

She even proves that she is more powerful than Optimus Prime when she survives the end of the film's climactic battle and starts to work to bring back Unicron. 2 Unicron Unicron is the main antagonist of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts . He is a cosmic Cybertronian God of Chaos and Destruction, and the twin brother and eternal nemesis of Primus. He resembles Marvel Comics' Galactus, devouring planets as fuel.

According to Mirage, Unicron is"way bigger than a planet," and he is actually seen onscreen, consuming the Maximals entire homeworld. Unicron would have destroyed Earth and every Transformer on the planet if he had gotten through, and the only way to stop him was to keep him from getting into this dimension.

He lived at the end of the movie since no Transformer on Earth had the might to beat him, but when Optimus Prime destroys the Transwarp Key, it keeps Unicron from ever getting back to Earth. It is a good thing too, since Unicron is an unbeatable opponent, capable of interdimensional travel. While he consumes planets and is bigger than any Transformer, he can also turn into a humanoid robot and fight.

He can also resurrect the dead, shoot powerful beams of energy from his eyes, and is a being no Transformer on Earth has a chance of even slowing down. 1 Primus Primus is more powerful than Megatron, Optimus Prime, and arguably Unicron because he is the actual planet of Cybertron itself and the spirit who bestows the Matrix of Leadership upon Orion Pax to revive him as Optimus Prime. He is the actual god who created the Transformers, sacrificing his own life-force and becoming Cybertron to do so.

Every Cybertronian Spark, including Megatron's, comes from him. Primus created the Matrix of Leadership, and since Optimus Prime has that, it makes him more powerful than almost any other regular Transformer, and is what leads him to become strong enough to beat Megatron on his own. Without the Matrix, there is a chance Megatron could fight Prime on even ground. That is all thanks to the power of Primus.

Optimus serves as an extension of his god's will, and that god is Primus. His twin brother is Unicron, and Primus is the opposite of him, representing creation while Unicron represents destruction. He appears in Transformers One as the one who judges Orion Pax worthy and bestows him with the Matrix, enabling Optimus to defeat Megatron and exile him from Iacon.

Primus created Megatron, and he is the planet Megatron was born on, so he is the god, and Megatron is only one of his Transformers creations. 7.7/10 Transformers 10 stars 9 stars 8 stars 7 stars 6 stars 5 stars 4 stars 3 stars 2 stars 1 star Like Follow Followed PG-13 Adventure Science Fiction Action Release Date July 3, 2007 Runtime 144 minutes Director Michael Bay Writers Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, John Rogers Producers Don Murphy, Ian Bryce, Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Steven Spielberg, Tom DeSanto, Brian Goldner Cast See All Powered by Expand Collapse
