Storms caused significant damage in the Houston area on Saturday, with reports of multiple tornadoes and straight-line winds. One fatality was reported in the Liverpool area south of Houston , and four people sustained non-critical injuries. Brazoria County officials confirmed around 10 damaged homes, but the full extent of the damage is still being assessed.
At least six tornadoes touched down in the Houston area, according to the National Weather Service, with possible additional touchdowns yet to be confirmed. The storms also caused over an hour of departure delays at Houston's two main airports, Bush Intercontinental and Hobby. North of Houston, mobile homes were damaged or destroyed in Katy and Porter Heights, and the doors of a fire station were blown in.
