Disney Star Wars has introduced several new villains to the franchise over the past decade, creating 15 characters who best embody the dark side.
Star Wars is known for its impressive collection of iconic villains, and the Disney era of the franchise introduced several more compelling antagonists. While the Star Wars movies and TV shows have brought back familiar characters like Darth Vader and Grand Admiral Thrawn, many new villains garnered just as much praise and demand for more. The Star Wars books, comics, and video games featured even more original villains with some of the best stories in the entire franchise.
14 Dryden Vos Paul Bettany also gave a wonderfully villainous performance as Dryden Vos in Solo: A Star Wars Story. His first appearance showed him killing an Imperial Governor, a hilarious introduction that demonstrated how much power he had. Bettany's uncaged fury, combined with Dryden's scar-like marks that flared when he was upset, make it clear why everyone was terrified of failing him.
11 Gallius Rax Gallius Rax became the leader of the Imperial Remnant after the Battle of Endor, rallying their remaining forces in the Aftermath trilogy by Chuck Wending. In secret, he was Palpatine's former protégé, tasked with destroying what was left of the Empire in the event of Palpatine's death.
8 Agent Kallus While not as high in rank as other Imperial villains, Agent Kallus was a recurring threat to the Ghost crew throughout the first two seasons of Star Wars Rebels. He developed a personal rivalry with Zeb Orrelios after revealing that he authorized disrupters that wiped out the Lasat people. However, the series later peeled back the layers of Kallus' character and how he regretted many of his past actions.
5 The Grand Inquisitor The Grand Inquisitor was the first member of the Inquisitorius to debut in Star Wars canon, a fantastic villain for Star Wars Rebels season 1. Masterfully voiced by Jason Isaacs, the Grand Inquisitor was a refined yet brutal enemy who gleefully taunted Kanan Jarrus and Ezra Bridger. His duels with Kanan are some of the best in the franchise, with his double-bladed spinning lightsaber being one of the best designs of the Disney era.
