There are many superweapons in Star Wars canon and Legends, but what are the deadliest technological terrors in the franchise?
Superweapons have been a part of the Star Wars franchise since its 1977 debut, with various works in the canon and Legends continuities adding even more to the franchise’s lore. The first Death Star battle station and its replacement, the Death Star II, play major roles in the original Star Wars trilogy, providing the rebel heroes with a seemingly insurmountable threat to overcome while demonstrating the depravity of the Galactic Empire.
9 Xyston-Class Star Destroyers The canon continuity’s Xyston-class Star Destroyers are smaller, yet deadlier counterparts to the Legends timeline’s Eclipse dreadnaughts. Palpatine began work on the vessels during the reign of the original Galactic Empire, completing a fleet of over 10,000 ships by the events of Star War: The Rise of Skywalker.
6 Omega Frost Devised by the Tagge Company for the Galactic Empire, the Omega Frost superweapon saw use in the year following the Battle of Yavin in the Legends continuity. Two deceptively small conductor towers could freeze anything caught between them and cause them to shatter. The Omega Frost was intended to be used on rebel ships, but its range was theoretically unlimited, as anything caught between the two towers could be frozen and destroyed - even planets or entire star systems.
