Cantwell got fans talking with his latest social media musing but the message from fans couldn't be more clear.
The Ibrox playmaker has come under some criticism from punters for his recent performances and appeared unhappy at being hooked by Philippe Clement in the win over Kilmarnock at the weekend. He's been a key player for the Belgian for the most part but his first full season as a Rangers player has had its ups and downs - he had to win the boss back over after he was mercilessly subbed before half-time against Aris Limassol in the Europa League back in November.
He's no stranger to some social media mischief either. His infamous '56' post shortly after making the move from Norwich set the tone, and he's got into it with Chris Sutton on his socials in the past. He's a man who seems to enjoy getting a reaction, and his most recent offering has raised a few eyebrows.
On his Instagram story, he posted the words 'a bird can't fly in a cage' against a black backdrop. That was shortly followed by a black and white picture of his face. There's been no Darwin Nunez-style wipeout but in response, one fan wrote: 'Mate, stop posting s**** and do your talking on the park.' Another added that 'the connotations after stropping off the pitch after being subbed does not reflect well ahead of a massive must-win game at the weekend.'
Gers travel to Celtic in a game that could define the title race with Cantwell and Co needing a win to keep alive any realistic hopes of reclaiming the title and a potential Treble thereafter. The champions currently sit three points ahead going into the final three games of the season.
