Tim Cook and President Donald Trump have met before, most recently to talk about how tariffs would hurt Apple's bottom line.: In his most direct, public rebuke of President Donald Trump so far, Apple CEO Tim Cook spoke out against Trump’s immigration agenda on Wednesday in a court filing, admonishing the administration for its attempts to rescind DACA, an Obama-era program that allows undocumented immigrants brought to the U.S. as children, known as Dreamers, to avoid deportation.

In the filing, Cook said that he is “distressed at the prospect of ripping our DACA colleagues from the fabric of our company,” calling the issue “a moral one.” The brief has anecdotes from five Dreamers who work at Apple about their histories and current work with the company. “Each brings his or her own story of adversity, achievement and commitment to excellence,” the brief says.
