Apple CEO Tim Cook filed a legal brief to the Supreme Court to protect 'Dreamers' from the Trump administration
attached their names to an amicus brief urging the Supreme Court to uphold DACA.
The legal filing lists Apple, along with CEO Tim Cook and retail boss Deirdre O'Brien. "In this submission, Mr. Cook and Ms. O'Brien speak for Apple and, importantly, for themselves," the friend of the court brief says. Trump cancelled the DACA program in 2017, but the move was blocked by the lower courts and the issue is expected to be decided by the US Supreme Court in its current term.
According to the brief, Apple employs 443 Dreamers from over 25 countries. Apple refers to itself as "one of the most successful companies in the history of the world," and says that this would not have been possible with its diverse workforce, partially attributing its success to Dreamers.
