According to an arrest affidavit, the golfing legend possessed two hydrocodone pills as he crashed his vehicle in Florida last week.
Woods was suspected of driving under the influence, for which he was arrested Friday afternoon. Police also say he exhibited “lethargic and slow” movements and that he was “sweating profusely.” The golfer told officers he did not consume alcohol before the rollover crash around 2 p.m. Friday, but he did admit to taking prescription medication that morning.said the 50-year-old athlete “lives a life of pain,” pointing to Woods’s prior leg and back injuries. Woods is currently dating Vanessa Trump, the ex-wife ofWoods passed a breathalyzer test, but he reportedly struggled to perform the standard field sobriety test in which a person suspected of driving under the influence is instructed to walk normally. He could not do so, telling an officer that he had surgical operations on his back and leg after a prior crash. Woods did not submit to a urinalysis test, according to officials. He was charged with a DUI, property damage, and refusal to submit to a lawful blood-alcohol test.Woods collided with a truck pulling a trailer as the other driver turned into a driveway on Jupiter Island. While speeding, Woods was checking his phone and changing the radio station when the rollover crash occurred, he told police. Neither the golfer nor anyone else was injured in the crash. This is the fourth time that Woods has been involved in a car crash. In February 2021, he was seriously injured in a crash that shattered his right leg and ankle.
