The company isn't saying how many of its 560 million customers are affected by the breach.
More than a month after a data breach was discovered at Ticketmaster, customers are hearing from the company about how their personal information may have been compromised.This breach was first reported in late May. It's believed a hacker group known as ShinyHunters, based in Europe, is behind it. Emails are being sent to customers describing the breach. The company said it discovered unauthorized activity on a cloud database hosted by a third-party data services provider.
The hackers may also have gotten access to payment card information, such as encrypted credit or debit card numbers and expiration dates.Ticketmaster said it hasn't seen any other unauthorized activity since it discovered the breach, which is being investigated by law enforcement.The company is offering one year of free credit monitoring through TransUnion. A link to sign up for that is included in the email.
