Live Nation says it’s investigating after its subsidiary Ticketmaster suffered a data breach.
You’ve likely used Ticketmaster to go to a concert, a sporting event or any other kind of live event before. That means hackers may now have your personal information. A hacking group says it obtained names, addresses, phone numbers, and even the private credit card information of hundreds of millions of users.If your account was compromised – Live Nation is required by law to notify you. But there are some things you can do right now to protect yourself instead of waiting.
If you use that password on any other sites, change that too.Next – be sure to monitor your financial accounts for any suspicious activity.Finally – you need to stay vigilant against phishing attempts. Fraudsters could use the information they have to try and get you to reveal more personal information in creative ways through email and texts.
