Reports from the scene indicated that the driver of a car drove into the back of a stationary car.
Three people were injured, two seriously, when a car smashed into the back of another car on the N12 in Ekurhuleni in the early hours of Sunday morning, paramedics said.
Netcare 911 paramedics responded at 2.55am to reports of a car crash on the N12 in the direction of Benoni in Boksburg, Netcare 911 spokesman Shawn Herbst said. The injured people were assessed on the scene by advanced life support paramedics and found that two had sustained serious injuries and another moderate injuries.
Due to the nature of one of the occupants’ injuries, the Netcare 1 specialised helicopter air ambulance was called to the scene to airlift the seriously injured person to hospital. The other two people were treated on the scene and once stabilised were transported by ambulance to hospital for further treatment, Herbst said.
