Investigators are continuing to piece together what led to a deadly school bus crash in Carroll County that killed two students and injured several others.

THP investigators also revealed the identity of the CMCSS school bus driver as Sabrina R. Ducksworth, who was driving a 2024 Blue Bird School Bus. The crash happened on Friday along Highway 70 near Cedar Grove and involved the school bus, a Tennessee Department of Transportation dump truck, and a Chevrolet Trailblazer. Shortly after veering into the wrong side of the roadway, the school bus collided with the TDOT truck, causing the truck to catch fire and continue traveling forward on the road while the bus drove off the road and crashed into a tree. The blue Chevrolet, traveling the same direction as the TDOT truck but several car lengths behind it, was swiped by the bus and sustained front-end damage. The driver was able to exit the car. Multiple others remain hospitalized. Officials say nine medical helicopters were called to the scene, with seven transporting patients to trauma centers in Memphis and Nashville.
