Purdue University Northwest kicked off its spring semester by announcing a new executive director for Diversion, Equity and Inclusion at a time when the school faces continued calls for Chancellor Thomas Keon to resign over a racist comment.
Chancellor Thomas L. Keon speaks during the Purdue Northwest Roaring Ahead Scholarship Gala on Friday, June 10, 2022 at the Hard Rock Casino in Gary.
Associate DEI Director Laura Odom will step into the role of executive director, Keon announced in a campuswide memo obtained by the Post-Tribune on Monday. Odom, who’s also the school’s Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Officer and Title IX Coordinator, replaces Linda Knox, whose retirement was celebrated on Jan. 5.
