A piece of space exploration history has hit San Antonio's real estate market.

on Fri, Mar 15, 2024 at 8:13 amA luxurious Alamo Heights home once owned by late aerospace medicine pioneer and Air Force ophthalmologist Col. Thomas J. Tredici has hit the market for just under $2 million. Tredici's innovations — including the distinctive, eye-protecting gold visor on NASA space suits — shaped the human experience of space exploration and enabled Apollo astronauts to survive on the moon.

Tredici's one-time home, built in the 1920s, blends traditional style with modern touches and is loaded with amenities. Though its lot spans less than a quarter of an acre, the house itself is a sprawling 4,500 square feet, boasting four bedrooms and five and a half baths. Designed with entertaining in mind, the dwelling's second floor welcomes guests to a spacious living area and sleek kitchen. The level also includes a study, office and a bedroom ideal for an in-house nanny or maid.

The third floor features three additional bedrooms, including the primary suite offering the luxury of a clawfoot bathtub and a private balcony. The small but charming backyard also includes a swimming pool. All photos and listing info via
