“This project will include the redevelopment of the existing police station and fire station and is envisioned to include high-density, mixed use. The site along U Street NW, 17th Street NW, and V Street NW in Ward 1 comprises two lots at 1617 U Street NW and 1620 V Street NW that total approximately 82,000 square feet at the border of the Adams Morgan and Reed-Cooke neighborhoods.

“DHCD is happy to be back at March Madness offering opportunities to not only build more affordable housing our city needs, but also help build capacity among our development partners,” said Interim Director Drew Hubbard. “Every unit we build helps push towards our affordable housing goals and we are excited for these solicitations to find our development partners to achieve them.

This $40M project includes the construction of a new recreation and early childhood education center in Ward 5. The project is in the design phase and DPR will be looking to hire a General Contractor this Spring 2022 to bring this project into reality.DPR has $16M to replace the existing and outdated field house and pool house at Upshur Park in Ward 4. DPR will be is looking to hire the Design Team this Spring 2022.
