After showing in London for the past few seasons, Sinéad O’Dwyer is now taking her body-positive designs to Copenhagen – a city that’s familiar to her, given that her wife Ottilie is Danish. “I’ve been to Copenhagen quite a lot; some shows when we were first together,” the Irish designer tells Vogue over Zoom, ahead of her spring/summer 2025 show. “As a city, it’s so beautiful.” In many ways though, O’Dwyer doesn’t see her clothes as being aligned with the classic Scandi aesthetic at all.
“I feel like it’s a really unique because it champions independent brands who are doing something to change structural issues in the industry, whether it’s sustainability or just how we build clothing full stop.” For O’Dwyer, who uses multiple fit models of different sizes to create her designs , the financial support the award offers, along with the mentorship that comes with it, will be invaluable going forward.
