This afternoon and evening, the chance of rain will decrease, but skies will remain mostly cloudy.
The weather for today’s parades is expected to be mainly cloudy and mild, with the possibility of an isolated sprinkle.
By Sunday evening, we could see a few thunderstorms, some potentially strong. The Storm Prediction Center has identified our area as level 2/5 risk for severe weather, including damaging winds, hail, and tornadoes. However, based on current parameters, this threat seems limited.Except for a few morning sprinkles, the weather for today’s parades looks fine. It may still be a bit damp, especially in areas that experienced morning showers, but not enough to cause significant impact.
The Storm Prediction Center maintains a level two “slight risk” for most of the area from Sunday into early Monday. There are a few limiting factors to the potential severe weather, and any severe storms that do develop will be scattered. It’s crucial to stay weather aware on Sunday. By Monday afternoon, rain and storms should clear from the area, leading to partly cloudy skies. The trend of mild temperatures will continue until Monday night when temperatures will drop behind the passing cold front.Following Monday’s cold front, Mardi Gras is expected to be cooler and mostly sunny. The day will start in the 40s, so jackets are recommended for early parades. In the afternoon, sunshine should make it feel a bit more pleasant as temperatures near 60 degrees.
