It was the developer’s third attempt in two years to get the Mount Joy Township board’s approval for the supermarket and gas station on Route 230.
After multiple unsuccessful attempts, a developer aiming to bring Wawa and Aldi to Mount Joy Township has gotten zoning approval.
Wednesday’s decision followed a three-hour hearing held July 30. During the hearing, three neighboring residents opposed to the project were granted party status, which would allow them to appeal Wednesday’s decision to county court until Oct. 4. The proposed shopping center would have 110,650 square feet of commercial space, including the gas station, supermarket and two restaurants with drive-thru windows.
