Belgian star Nafissatou Thiam put herself in select company by winning her third straight Olympic title in the heptathlon. The 29-year-old Thiam became just the second woman to win the same track and field event in three straight Games, joining Polish hammer thrower Anita Wlodarczyk.

Thiam finished with a total of 6,880 points, just ahead of silver medalist Katrina Johnson-Thompson of Britain’s 6,844.
