Those two highways drew the most anger in an Express-News reader poll, with drivers critical of road design, ongoing construction and traffic volume.

Interstate 35 has emerged as the winner — well, maybe 'winner' isn't the right word — in our poll asking readers to pick the San Antonio -area highway they most hate driving on. Nearly half of the poll's respondents — 45 out of a total of 94 — picked I-35 as the worst. Loop 1604 was the runner-up, with 29 votes, followed by Loop 410 with nine, U.S. 281 with five and Interstate 10 with three. 'Every single one but especially I-35 ,' one reader wrote in as a response.

Watch out, drivers: More Loop 1604 closures coming this weekend Commenters on an Express-News Instagram post about the poll also seemed divided between I-35 and 1604. Many of them simply responded by saying: 'All of them.' Drivers on I-35 must 'be hyper vigilant about the road condition AND bad drivers, PLUS an unending amount of 18-wheelers,” one Instagram user wrote.
