On the heels of its Christmas Day premiere, TheWitcherBloodOrigin has found itself the target of review bombing from Henry Cavill and novel fans. At just a 9% on Rotten Tomatoes, it's Netflix's lowest audiences score.
With many still upset about the actor's exit from the mainline series, The Witcher: Blood Origin is being review bombed by Henry Cavill and novel fans alike. Developed by Witcher writer Declan de Barra and showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich, the prequel revolves around a variety of Elves who embark on a journey of vengeance during the race's Golden Age, while also exploring the infamous Conjunction of the Spheres event and the creation of the first Witcher.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY A few days after the show's premiere on Netflix, The Witcher: Blood Origin has landed its official Rotten Tomatoes score, which has set a record low for the streamer on the review platform. The prequel series is being review bombed by Henry Cavill and novel fans on the platform, currently sitting at just a 9 percent approval rating from audiences on the site.
One of the biggest complaints critics and audiences seem to agree on in regard to The Witcher: Blood Origin is its lack of holding any value as its own story, but rather solely existing as the jumping off point for future entries in the franchise. The Witcher season 2 was similarly criticized by some for its efforts to launch such projects as The Witcher: Blood Origin and other spinoffs, though critics looked much favorably upon the season in comparison to the prequel show.
Can The Witcher Season 3 Keep The Franchise Alive? With audiences already coming off of season 2 divided, and now taking to review bombing The Witcher: Blood Origin, it now raises the question of whether The Witcher season 3 will keep the franchise alive.
