High temperatures today are expected to reach the low 90s across much of Texas, which is very unusual for late October.
Last week, much of Texas was treated to the state’s first real taste of fall weather. Parts of North Texas saw temps fall into the 30s while many other corners of the state experienced lows in the 40s and 50s. Unfortunately, the break from the heat is officially over. A high pressure system is bringing summer-like heat back to Texas. Parts of the state already saw highs in the low 90s on Tuesday, and even more areas will top the 90-degree threshold on Wednesday.
Record highs across Texas Many areas farther north will experience even hotter temperatures. Dallas is expected to top out at 92 degrees this afternoon. If that happens, it would break the daily record of 90 degrees, which was set in 1925. Waco is also expected to break a new daily high temperature record. Today's forecasted high is 91 degrees, which would beat the current record of 89 degrees. The hottest part of Texas will likely be in the area just north and west of the DFW Metroplex.
