Explore the evolution of horror filmmaking and the effectiveness of crafting suspense through scenarios rather than relying on jump scares and gore.

Since the very early days of motion pictures, horror movies have been doing everything they can to give their audiences the fright they crave. Of course, there is certainly more than one way that this spooky goal can be achieved. Many horror movies employ a rather straightforward approach; using jump scares , gore, and other startling images to give their viewers an immediate sense of fear.

These thoughtfully created horror movies give viewers plenty of nail-biting scares that work far more effectively than simple, immediate methods of creating fear. 10 A Quiet Place (2018) Directed By John Krasinski Your Rating close 10 stars 9 stars 8 stars 7 stars 6 stars 5 stars 4 stars 3 stars 2 stars 1 star Rate Now 0/10 Leave a Review Your comment has not been saved Your changes have been saved Email is sent Email has already been sent My List My Favorite Movies My Watchlist Success! 8/10 9.8/10 A Quiet Place PG-13 A Quiet Place takes place in a world ravaged by predatory alien beings with ultra-sensitive hearing.
