The Union Jack-painted Jaguar E-Type known as the Shaguar that was used in all three Austin Powers movies will be auctioned off by Mecum in January 2025.
The Austin Powers franchise is, in some ways, an odd one. For five years in the late 1990s and early 2000s, the over-the-top James Bond satire and vehicle for Mike Myers to talk to himself was one of the biggest hits in comedy. The movies have lost some cultural significance since, but the film's legacy — one of jokes that still work wonderfully and jokes that very much haven't aged well — still makes them memorable.
A Mecum auction listing also notes that no doubles existed in filming, making this example the unquestionable hero car of the franchise. The car has been held in a private collection, only now surfacing on the open market for some lucky Mike Myers enthusiast.The car stands out for its eye-catching livery and its proximity to that extended three-point turn gag, but it's also notable simply as a real 1967 E-Type in excellent condition.
