It has been 30 years since the first movie in the shagadelic series premiered. If you're nostalgic for the '90s (or just for old Jaguars), here's your car.
Here's the actual 1967 Jaguar E-type from 1997's Austin Powers and its sequels.Featuring a Union Jack paint job and a 4.2-liter straight-six, it's pure Swinging Sixties transportation, and it crosses the block on Saturday, January 18, at the Mecum Auctions sale in Kissimmee, Florida. It's been—gulp—nearly 30 years since the first Austin Powers movie. Anyone nostalgic for the mid-1990s should check out this Jaguar.
The later V-12-powered E-types can look a little, uh, like the rocket-ship sight gag from The Spy Who Shagged Me, but a 1967 car is still a very pretty thing. This one also has the desirable 4.2-liter inline-six, a manual gearbox, and right-hand drive. As Austin would say, 'No, I'm English.'Part of a private collection that acquired it after filming wrapped, the Shaguar was occasionally lent out to Jaguar Land Rover for various functions, where it no doubt drew a few toothy smiles.
