The first is that we want our place to feel like an extension of your home, the kind of place where old friends meet, milestones are celebrated, and new friends are made. The second meaning: we aim to emulate the words of Abraham Lincoln’s Second Inaugural Address. “With malice toward none; with charity for all…” As a business, we hope to be a positive presence. All are welcome here. Geographically, we couldn’t be in a better location for these two intentions to merge. The Second Address is located on a stretch of Massachusetts Ave. NE, just east of Union Station and in the shadow of the Supreme Court. These impressive buildings give way to quaint historic row homes and neighborhood playgrounds. Quite literally, The Second Address sits at the intersection of the political and personal. This confluence is what makes Washington DC unique and our name fitting. Our family has been part of the Capitol Hill neighborhood for many decades. Like many of our friends and neighbors, our roots are international but this is the place we call home.
